Human Element ‘Important’ For Software Testing

With talk of automation within the software testing industry becoming ever more prevalent, and more and more solutions to automate processes being developed, you could be forgiven for thinking that the human side of software testing is disappearing.

But a recent article for DevOps Online explained that, when it comes to quality assurance (QA), it’s still important to have a human touch.

The QA process introduces important checks and helps to catch errors that can be missed at other stages of the development cycle.

The news provider stated that “it’s crucial that the human element of testing isn’t overlooked or discounted” as companies move further forwards with their digitisation strategies.

“Even with the growth of AI and automated testing, greater collaboration and more investment on the customer representation side of QA is where we think companies can truly establish positive differentiation,” the website added.

This also comes hand in hand with a shift in priorities where QA is concerned. In the past, those working in this area were primarily focused on the functionality of the product, whereas now their main aim is to smooth out the experience for the end user.

An article for Forbes recently suggested that developers and testers are going to need to work even more closely together because of the need for testing alongside the development process, rather than at the end of the development stage.
